We built the partner we wish we'd had.
OffDeck is a small team of senior operators — founders, COOs, heads of people — who have stood beside companies through every stage from idea to public. We are building the partner we kept reaching for and couldn't find.
Most companies don't fail. They forget.
Every founder we've worked with had the answer somewhere — in their head, in a Slack thread, in the margin of a board pre-read. The problem was never knowing. The problem was holding what they knew, long enough for it to compound.
Tools are not the issue. There is no shortage of project trackers, HR systems, OKR dashboards. They each ask one question well, then leave the founder to assemble the answer.
OffDeck asks a different question. Is this company ready for what's next, and what should change? We answer it the way a senior operator would — by listening, mapping, configuring what fits, and writing it down.
We are betting the next decade of company-building looks less like dashboards and more like a craft — quieter, more honest, more patient. Built to last.
Four qualities. Every conversation.
These are the words we use to check our own work. If a piece of OffDeck — a product surface, a pricing page, a partner conversation — doesn't pass all four, we change it.
Say what you mean, in plain English.
We resist jargon, abstractions, and hype. If a sentence wouldn't survive a real conversation with a real founder, it doesn't ship.
Hold a point of view, hold it well.
Companies hire us for judgement, not options. We tell founders what we think, name our assumptions, and stay open to being wrong.
This is hard. Treat it that way.
Building a company is one of the harder things a person can choose to do. Our tone — in product, in email, in person — respects that, always.
Every feature earns its place.
We default to less — fewer screens, fewer notifications, fewer rituals. The mark of a serious tool is what it refuses to do.
Eleven people. Sixty-plus stage-changes between us.
Every founder partner has built or operated a company past Series A. Every product person has shipped what they're now designing for someone else. We hire slowly.
How we got here.
Operators, every one of them.
Every investor in OffDeck has either built a company themselves or runs one today. They use the product.
